This book explores the Arab Uprisings and the instability that engulfed the region in the following years. It argues that to understand the events of the uprisings we must look at relations between rulers and ruled along with the strategies used by regimes to exert sovereign power.

Father Roy came to the ordained priesthood in the Diocese of Huron after thirty years in the business world marketing insurance. He represented the Anglican Church on PLURA (the inter-denominational Social Justice Foundation.) Since his retirement as a full-time parish priest, he has used his years of lay and ordained experience to assist parishes in the process of change.
