"It was mid-December 1610 in Mexico City. The Church was in its preparatory season of Advent, leading up to the celebration of Christ's birth at Christmas. The nuns of the Encarnacion convent had just celebrated the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, on 8 December. But now, in this time usually filled with joy, some of the nuns were nervous. Their choirbooks were missing. Without them, the nuns would not be able to celebrate the anniversary of Christ's birth adequately. A musician priest of the metropolitan cathedral, located just three blocks from the convent, had caused the nuns' alarm: Antonio Rodríguez Mata (d. 1643) had all five of the missing books. He had borrowed them from Sister Flor de Santa Clara, the convent "vicaria de coro" (choir vicar) but had failed to return them despite the convent's repeated requests. The diocesan vicar general and the attorney general were summoned. The nuns of the Encarnación demanded that Mata be imprisoned if he failed to return the books immediately following the denunciation. The threat of jail time was serious, but so too was the alleged offense: Mata was impeding the nuns from performing their liturgical music for Christmas"--

A book that gives a profound explanation of how one can relate with the Immaculate by means of "the Marian Vow" of total consecration to the Immaculate that is transformative and life-changing. This book is a treatise on total consecration to the Immaculate, conceived initially by St. Maximilian M. Kolbe and has developed into the distinctive charism of the Franciscans of the Immaculate. Such charism finds its consummation in the profession of this Marian consecration in the form of a religious vow, known as, "The Marian Vow." Finding its original inspiration in St. Maximilian Kolbe who envisioned of a "fourth vow" of consecration that puts no limit to the missionary work of the religious, Fr. This monumental effort is based on the writings of Aquinas, Bonaventure and Scotus. Thomas, merely gave his real doctrine and opinion concerning the Immaculate Conception. However, now a favorable opportunity was offered to contribute in loving gratitude to the greater honor and glory of Mary Immaculate and of her glorious defender, D. Scotus, by presenting his doctrine concerning Mary's Immaculate Conception. Now of the three greatest scholastic Doctors, to include Bonaventure, Scotus alone gives Mary the full glory of a real and complete Immaculate Conception. In comparing the three Doctors, those portions of their works will chiefly be used which "ex professo" state and explain their position and opinion regarding this doctrine and other doctrines closely connected with it, for instance, original justice, original sin, conception, sanctification, redemption. This is indeed a pinnacle treatise regarding this issue.
