A loving kitten rescued by a perceived black ghost is taken to his new home and accidentally misnamed Twitter. In gratitude, he dedicates his life (unsuccessfully) to security patrolling, running a well-ordered household, and advising. Twitter misremembers the adages and famous literary quotations taught to him by his feline mother, but he uses them to deal with ant invasions, sneaky green lizards, his toy’s murder/funeral, a character-flawed cat’s intrusion into the household, and more. He triumphs over daily madcap conflicts and emails it all to his owner’s dopey mother. Lives change when a book agent discovers the tea-stained emails, publishes them, and sends Twitter and his G-Ma on a book-signing tour. To keep it secret, an unscrupulous friend puts his name on their advance money’s checking account and helps them buy travel supplies. Their getaway is thwarted only twenty-five miles from home when they are arrested, paw and finger printed, and jailed. The surprise ending contains a tearful email from their jail cell. This humorous book will delight cat lovers and readers who are able to spot the twisted adages and misquoted famous literary references throughout each chapter.

This book of poems is based on my own real personal life experiences as well as others. I focus on what I feel at the time, what I have experienced, or what someone else has experienced. I write on subject matters that relates to abuse, cheating, everyday life struggles, and what can be done to take charge of that moment. All of my poems have meaning and messages to help others visualize a situation that may have had an effect on their lives with possible resolution. My poems are intended to inspire and motivate others as I have been inspired to write them. My voice speaks out loud to represent those who are fearful to speak for themselves. If I can reach out and touch somebody and make a difference in their life, then I feel that my work was worth sharing. My inspiration and motivation comes from my loving husband who came to my rescue at a time when all was dark and empty in my life, and my children who gave me reasons to want to live. The fact that I was in a dangerous situation also put my children's lives at risk and gave me the strength and courage to take control of my life. I write poems as a medicinal tool to help heal my wounds internally and emotionally. It allows me to tell a story and controls my mental state of mind by putting it at ease and peace. These crucial changes allowed me to have the peace of mind that I have today. I have some good memories which I will always embrace and treasure, but had more bad than good that will never be forgotten.

- Presents stories behind the images including exclusive artwork and previously unseen images- Endorsed by celebrated interior designer, Kelly Wearstler and Amy Astley, the editor of Architectural Digest- QR codes link images to the sites of buildings and evolving video contentThis book is a celebration of the power of the mobile phone camera combined with Tom Kligerman's unique eye. Tom is a New York architect who adores travel and the different cultures of the world, recording vibrant details and evocative scenes on his iPhone as he journeys from India to New Mexico, from Beaux-Arts monuments to rustic barns, from ocean to mountaintop. The images have been curated into dynamic pairs that spark a conversation about the world and the different ways of seeing it. They are accompanied by Tom's reflections, and those of his Instagram followers, in a series of captions, comments and mini essays. This book is a child of the pandemic, a time when people could only dream of traveling or relive past experiences, as Tom has done, from the image banks on their mobile devices. It rejoices in both the potential of new media and the physical pleasure given by a beautifully made and structured book. It allows readers a moment of pause and reflection, so necessary if we are not to be lost in the digital feed.

Through the years, I have written poems, and now I wish to share them with you. My family has been an inspiration, and my love of nature is quite evident. In between the covers, There is a poem thats right for you. Theres a poem here for the lover And the nature lover too. A poem here for each step in life, For the toddler and the old. Originally published by Chicago's Black press, long neglected by mainstream publishing, and now included in a Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago exhibition, these comics showcase some of the finest Black cartoonists. Between the 1940s and 1980s, Chicago’s Black press—from The Chicago Defender to the Negro Digest to self-published pamphlets—was home to some of the best cartoonists in America. Kept out of the pages of white-owned newspapers, Black cartoonists found space to address the joys, the horrors, and the everyday realities of Black life in America. From Jay Jackson’s anti-racist time travel adventure serial Bungleton Green, to Morrie Turner’s radical mixed-race strip Dinky Fellas, to the Afrofuturist comics of Yaoundé Olu and Turtel Onli, to National Book Award–winning novelist Charles Johnson’s blistering and deeply funny gag cartoons, this is work that has for far too long been excluded and overlooked. Also featuring the work of Tom Floyd, Seitu Hayden, Jackie Ormes, and Grass Green, this anthology accompanies the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago’s exhibition Chicago Comics: 1960 to Now, and is an essential addition to the history of American comics. The book's cover is designed by Kerry James Marshall. Published in conjunction with the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, on the occasion of Chicago Comics: 1960s to Now, June 19–October 3, 2021. Curated by Dan Nadel.

When other girls her age were experiencing their first crushes, Melissa Sue Anderson was receiving handwritten marriage proposals from fans as young, and younger, than she was. When other girls were dreaming of their first kiss, Melissa was struggling through hers in front of a camera. From age eleven in 1974 until she left the show in 1981, Melissa Anderson literally grew up before the viewers of Little House on the Prairie. Melissa, as Mary, is remembered by many as “the blind sister”—and she was the only actor in the series to be nominated for an Emmy. In The Way I See It, she takes readers onto the set and inside the world of the iconic series created by Michael Landon, who, Melissa discovered, was not perfect, as much as he tried to be. In this memoir she also shares her memories of working with guest stars like Todd Bridges, Mariette Hartley, Sean Penn, Patricia Neal, and Johnny Cash. In addition to stories of life on the set, Melissa offers revealing looks at her relationships off-set with her costars, including the other Melissa (Melissa Gilbert) and Alison Arngrim, who portrayed Nellie Oleson on the show. And she relates stories of her guest appearances on iconic programs such as The Love Boat and The Brady Bunch. Filled with personal, revealing anecdotes and memorabilia from the Little House years, this book is also a portrait of a child star who became a successful adult actress and a successful adult. These are stories from “the other Ingalls sister” that have never been told.
