Knitted Cable Owl Slippers

Awesome cozy slippers with a delightful cable owl motif. The inspiration came to me while scrolling through the wonders of the internet and stumbling on slippers that were made in one piece on circular needles, but back and forth. I couldn't for the life of me figure it out, the pattern wasn't in English, so I decided to design my own! I came up with a very basic design, but then was inspired to make the top of the toe something special. I loved the look of a knitted cable owl on hats, mitts and scarves and next thing you know, this pattern was born! The pattern itself will make slipper for women's sizes 6-13 and men's sizes 5-12. Please take note, this is not a pattern for beginners. I used a very different technique involving 2 sets of single pointed needles. This pattern is written to fit nearly all child sized feet. This particular pattern will fit a foot that is 4 inches (10 cm) up to 8 3/4 inches (22 cm) in length. That is a toddler size 1 up to a nearly adult size 5, in US sizing. Please note, this isn’t a pattern for beginners, but if you know how to knit a stitch, pick up stitches and knit two stitches together, you should be okay. I’ve added a TON of photos and a how-to video to help you along with any of the more confusing parts. And please take note, you use 2 (two) sets of single point needles to make this. ​​​​​​​ Because these are made for little feet, they often don’t need much yarn and are quick to make. This makes them a great way to use up the smaller leftover bits from larger projects.

So I did. You can use either a double strand of worsted weight yarn OR one strand of super bulky yarn to make them. And you can make them from a woman’s size 6 to a man’s size 14. The pattern is knitted on 2 (two) sets of single pointed needles, but don’t worry. I’ve provided a bunch of photos to show you how to do this. It sounds more complicated than it really is.
