Nem Crimson Shores

Grant’s journey through the land of Nemori continues. The memory of, and worry over Vismag remains with him as he wonders if leaving him behind was the right thing to do. His true quest, to defeat Marat and stop the spread of Olur’s influence. He will not be without allies, however, as both great and terrible things wait to greet him downriver.

Grant has loved fantasy for his entire life. As a Dungeon Master he began creating a world of his own for tabletop role playing games that has grown to fill bookshelves since his teens. Nem. Outside of his basement game room pursuits, he once trained for and competed in the only medieval tourney held in his home city and won. That was his greatest moment, and it was some time ago. Little does he know, Nem is real and he is uniquely qualified to save it. A journey involving a death cult, a Trickster God, a budding enchanter, the Goddess of his dreams, and more awaits.

The Order of Eden is expanding their reach. Cooper flies the Monte Carlo, a ship built to catch munitions that missed their targets in space only to put unsuspecting worlds in danger years, perhaps centuries later. The Monte Carlo is going after a missile group drifting next to the speed of light this time, and if they don't get everything exactly right, the civilization in the Rega Gain Solar System will be destroyed. War has gone interstellar, and the galaxy has become an even more dangerous place. Firing a weapon in the vacuum of space can cause repercussions days, years, or even centuries later when that bullet, missile, torpedo or other instrument of destruction makes an impact. That’s where heroes like Cooper come in. Interplanetary civil war has raged on in his home solar system for decades. Every missed shot could strike an unsuspecting innocent and one side is interested in keeping the devastation of their conflict from spreading to the rest of the universe. That’s why they started the Chaser program, which enlists pilots like Cooper, callsign Breaker, to pursue wayward munitions so they can be destroyed before they end a civilization, wreck a space station, or end all life on worlds that had nothing to do with the fight that inspired the firing of a weapon. With the civil war winding down, the government is changing, and the Chaser program is coming to an end, but not before Cooper, a faithful repair robot named Ratter and the rest of the crew of the Monte Carlo finish one last pursuit. There’s a dangerous group of missiles and torpedoes travelling at nearly the speed of light headed for the civilized Rega Gain system. There is enough antimatter aboard those munitions to crack a planet. For reasons he’s not sharing, Cooper is determined to stop the missile group from destroying the terraformed moon of Tamber and damaging the world it orbits, even if years pass relative to the minutes it takes the Monte Carlo to finish its mission in this all-or-nothing effort. Come and witness the end of a tradition of duty, sacrifice, and glory. Will it be the end of the crew, or lead them to a new beginning in a solar system that is largely unaware that they’re in danger, but the crew of the Monte Carlo are desperate to save?

It has been months since the Siege of Port Rush. The Warlord, under the command of Jacob Valent, has been travelling to ports across the sector to gather intelligence, capturing ships and cargo as they go. Manpower and funds are still in short supply, but the Captain is winning the support of the British Alliance, and his crew suspects he has a long term plan that will lead to bigger prizes. After a period of intense training with the new Ranger Division, Alice and a number of young recruits fight the last remaining forces left behind after the siege. The enemies on the ground near Haven Shore are almost eliminated, and she will have to make a decision: remain with the new outfit, or return to the Warlord, her father’s ship. Haven Shore has become a beacon for peace while war looms in the near future. Politics and petty squabbles threaten to destabilise the new government while commanders fight for the manpower they need to complete repairs on the Triton and the rest of their small fleet. Ayan, Jake, Minh-Chu, Alice and their friends will face the greatest of challenges as they are forced to make life and death decisions. The galaxy teeters on the verge of all-out war, and they have very little time to find their place before it begins.

The Order of Eden and Citadel continue their efforts to dominate the Rose Solar System using their cult-like influence and military force. Jake, Remmy and Agameg have finished gathering intelligence about their plans and plan to escape a space station where the enemy is recruiting. Captain Ruby Sima, a loyal ally, plans to get them out without being noticed so they can reunite with the Triton, but it will require some tricky manoeuvring and luck. Wing Commander Minh-Chu Buu and members of the Triton crew return to the Bitter End Base to check on the Rebel Captains. During his visit, he discovers that a prospective member has done something horrendous to innocent explorers, and he has little time to save her victims. As he rushes off, a senior member of the Rebels has to draw the line between malicious piracy and purposeful privateering by making an example. The war gains focus and heats up in the second part of the Samurai Squadron trilogy, and no one will be left unmarked.

Jacob, Alice Valent and their oldest friends come face to face with the Order of Eden in a new way as a world of innocents comes under threat. The Spinward Fringe series is carried forward as a story about reunions, reinvention and rivalries unfold. The war with the Order of Eden heats up as allies begin to rally and a new battlefront opens. The rallying cry that brought so many people to the fight is taken up again: Deploy. Dominate. Disappear.
