Food for the Soul is a work of theology that sheds light on the history of Catholicism while discussing important issues facing the Church and our society today. Through a series of biographical plays, author Alex LaPerchia tells the stories of a variety of influential Catholic figures: the twentieth century popes who served as “beacons of light” during the Holocaust; Venerable Louis of Granada, a renowned Dominican monk considered a “theologian for the laity”; Blessed Margaret of Castello, who overcame disability and adversity to devote her life to serving others; and Saint John Vianney, recognized by the Catholic Church as the patron saint of all parish priests. LaPerchia also explores his personal history as a Catholic and shares how God reveals Himself though all faiths.

The initial goal of this book was to discover the ultimate purpose and meaning behind the abductions of human beings into UFOs—the alarming reality of which is still hardly known to the public. But as this study developed, it led to a series of revelations which brought us to an unexpected interpretation of this phenomenon. Indeed, it became all too obvious that there was a connection between these abductions and the absurd path that today’s human society is taking. More and more measures are being implemented that are threatening the health, well-being, and freedom of human beings the world over under the guise of ‘security’ purposes. Those responsible for this are not only our leaders, but occult forces--which are exposed in this book. We were therefore led to unveil what we can indeed refer to as the “greatest treachery in human history”: extremely powerful dark forces have been acting on Earth for a very long time unbeknownst to our population. These forces, identified in this book, are directly interfering in the governance of our world and are directly opposed to the harmonious evolution of Humankind, putting us all in grave danger. This book sheds an unprecedented new light on how this all relates to the tragic events Humanity has been going through since 2020.

Danny Schechter the "News Dissector," a veteran journalist, filmmaker, and participant in many social movements, began covering Occupy Wall Street for Al Jazeera and other leading websites, international TV News programs, and Progressive Radio Network shows. Occupy collects his essays, blog reports, and movement documents. As the filmmaker behind "In Debt We Trust" (2006) and "Plunder: The Crime of Our Time" (2010), Danny Schechter has specialized in exposing Wall Street crime in three books and many reports. He says, "This is the movement we have been waiting for to 'fight the power.' Even as debt strangled millions, and unemployment rose alongside foreclosures, economic issues only remained fodder for boring pundits and self-styled experts. There was no activist response. Until now." Schechter explains, "Occupy Wall Street has a way of touching you personally with its gutsy honesty and democratic spirit. Yet, I was not always uncritical. I want it to succeed, but I'm also aware of its many contradictions and internal conflicts." *Occupy* provides the News Dissector's in-depth assessment of a global revolt in the making. DANNY SCHECHTER is a writer, television producer, and independent filmmaker who also speaks about media and financial issues. He is the editor of Mediachannel1.org and blogs daily as the News Dissector at NewsDissector.net. Schechter is the author of fourteen books and has produced and directed more than thirty documentaries and television specials. His blog was named the 2009 "Blog of the Year" by the Hunter College Media Department of the City University of New York.

The need to produce food without the destructive chemical horrors of much modern farming, for an intelligent use of dwindling natural resources and for humane forms of production is universal, the practice is limited. This book is an account of one, large, instance of success in practice. Twenty-five years ago, Winin Pereira, a nuclear physicist abandoned academia to start a co-operative farm at Alonde in a tribal area north of Bombay. The group experienced, and finally discarded, all the false hopes and promises of Western originated forms of development: ploughs that ploughed too deep, irrigation systems that lowered water tables, fertilizers and pesticides which managed the earth and became so expensive that poorer farmers were dispossessed. Instead they learnt from the adivasai, or tribal people, who have nurtured or been nurtured by foresets for millennia, ways of applying popular knowledge to contemporary problems. This book is a combination of Pereira's record of achievement of sustainable livelihoods and an account of the farm and its effect on the India around it by a leading British journalist. This volume introduces students to the history of cultural and theological responses to abortion as background for understanding a diversity of ethical positions in contemporary Christian, Jewish, and Muslim writings. Politicized debates about abortion are often presented in terms of a binary rhetoric of prolife versus prochoice; however, this collection of essays shows how that binary often breaks down when abortion is seen from different religious perspectives and in light of the voices of women themselves. While abortion is a global phenomenon, this volume focuses on the U.S. context. American abortion politics and culture wars have been dominated by Christian voices; nevertheless, Jewish and Muslim abortion ethics engage many of the same issues from different cultural and religious perspectives. Finally, this volume presents important examples of recent social scientific studies about the relationship of religion and abortion in the diverse cultural, racial, and economic fabric of American society. Pedagogical features include: - Introduction to the subject matter by the editors - Introductory essays to all five parts of the book - Questions for classroom discussion Additional pedagogical materials can be found at: https://abortionreligionreader.com/
