Immunosuppressive (anti-rejection) medication must not be altered in primary health care. Drugs used in immunosuppression have significant interactions with other medicines, and this must always be taken into account before prescribing new medication. If acute rejection is suspected, the patient must be referred immediately to an appropriate hospital.
