Proceedings Of The 2nd World Conference On Social And Humanities Research W Share 2022

This is an open access book. The 2nd World Conference on Social and Humanities Research (W-SHARE) was conducted on November 20-21, 2022, in Makassar, Indonesia*. W-SHARE, the leading forum for the presentation of proposed research and research results, is organized by Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Universitas Negeri Makassar has been concerning on the pre-service teacher’s education. UNM has the capacity to promote “Building Resilience”, its is the ability to cope and prosper in the face of unfavorable events, obstacles, or adversity. Social competence, responsibility, optimism, hope for the future, attachment to family, self-efficacy, and favorable respect are all important characteristics of resilience in school-aged children and adolescents. UNM as one of the leading educational universities in Indonesia can collaborate with schools to enhance resilience through programs which build positive social norms and generate a sense of connectedness to teachers, peers, and the academic goals of the school. The cooperation should provide a program that focuses on improving personal and social capabilities, such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social management, using an evidence-based approach.

ICHESS is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Humanities Education and Social Sciences to a common forum. This is an open access book. With the progress of social civilization, social science and its research are becoming more and more important. Theoretically and practically, the study of social phenomena and social problems and the development of prosperous social sciences are the eternal themes of human beings. At present, social science research and its results can hardly meet the needs of social development, especially the unscientific evaluation of social science results, which has aroused great concern from all walks of life, and has produced dirt and questions on social science, thus affecting the proper development of social science. Max Weber once said that "the most important function of social science in modern times is to keep people "clear-headed" and to resist the delusions of "prophetic legislators". " Humanities and arts are the process of perceiving, realizing, thinking, manipulating, and expressing objective or subjective objects through capturing and excavating, feeling and analyzing, integrating and applying, or displaying the stage results in the form obtained through feeling (seeing, hearing, smelling, touching). The social sciences and humanities and arts contain content that will directly affect our lives and the way society functions. And by reacting to today's increasingly intricate problems and situations through systematic and professional discussions, they will further contribute to the improvement of institutions and the development of society. By thinking about issues and looking at problems and the world from different perspectives by putting the two together, it may be possible to have more comprehensive, appropriate, and better responses; for example, the development of laws requires a deeper understanding of the environment in which they are implemented; international trade requires a certain understanding of the customs of different countries; and the development of tax and economic policies requires a certain understanding of the population, consumer demand, etc.

This is an open access book. Each country in Southeast Asia has experienced numerous adversities, from pandemic and disasters, to inequalities and threats to democracy. Adding to these challenges, are our common experience of colonialism where its legacies still resonate in the present. Despite these challenges, Southeast Asia continue to participate in global commitments geared towards realizing sustainable development, democracy, and countervailing the imbalance global power relation. Furthermore, Southeast Asia has been the center of studies that critically examined the global power of knowledge production. Categories of ‘developing, undeveloped, or third world’ have been largely questioned, as these categories created more segregation and reflected Orientalist notion rather than acknowledging countries of Southeast Asia and others as a distinct entity. Under this backdrop, the conference will explore these important questions: what makes Southeast Asia resilient? Why? What brought Southeast Asia together as ‘Southeast Asia’? What are the challenges for Southeast Asia today? How do we overcome them? How does Southeast Asia contest and cooperate with global powers within the international network? This conference will bring together academics, educators, activists, or even policy makers who work on Southeast Asia to discuss those questions. Experts within and outside the countries of Southeast Asia are welcome to share their research and knowledge on various issues about the region.

As we know, the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on all the 17 SDGs have demonstrated how what began as a health catastrophe swiftly transformed into a human, socioeconomic and environmental crisis.
