Young John Holtz returns to Donny’s Bluff to continue what he had begun the prior year. His sawmill was up and running, but he was running out of raw materials. With the help of his new friend and adopted father, Jim Byrne, John expands to a full-blown furniture factory after discovering another drug ring in town. John’s involvement in the town improves the lives of many he comes in contact with but proves to be disaster for those who are users of people and who are mean-spirited. Best friends Libby Bays and Norma Singer are victims of Emmett Bays's abuse. Norma allows Libby to lure her into her father's black Chevrolet sedan, and after dropping his daughter off at their Main Street home, he drives Norma to an abandoned salvage yard and rapes her.
