Shifting Horizons

The tales in the Shifting Horizons anthology of short stories and flash fiction feature a doomed wedding, the wrong funeral, various escape plans, a murder or two, a ghost and several inspiring gardens. Assorted characters journey into the emotional unknown taking the reader along for the, sometimes perilous, ride. Buckle up!

Tammy's best friend Genell pushed her away from the horse farm where they had practically grown up together. Tammy moved to the city to explore college and find a future while mourning her life-long friend. Only, her life twists in ways she never knew were possible. Without the farm to sneak across the creek to, Tammy takes a part time job to keep her mind busy. Until she is too sick to work. Secrets have been hidden from her, many in plain sight. Some secrets her family thought she knew. Others, they hoped would never affect her. Tammy's plans for her future change as secrets are revealed. Everything she thought she knew about herself, her family, and her neighbors falls apart around her. Becoming an adult, and building a future, will mean forging an unexpected bond.

Throughout the history of photography the genre of landscape has been dominated by male perspectives. In this work, ten women photographers interpret the notion of landscape from a variety of perspectives.

This book offers a South Asian perspective on international law, maintaining a suitable distance from the ‘Western’ approach. The themes discussed reflect the region’s particular contribution to the development of international law. Each South Asian country has its own important role to play in promoting regional trade, regulating maritime affairs, ensuring access to water, debating State responsibility, engaging with International Criminal Court, questioning diplomatic and consular immunities, and, most importantly, upholding human rights. These issues are addressed by local contributors from Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, who have come together to represent the whole South Asian region on a single academic platform.
