In thinking of the Lord Jesus Christ, meditating upon His Person and work, my heart longed to communicate the worth of the Savior. These poems came as an answer to that longing. However, I realized that my heart, though redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb, can sometimes be deceitful. This struggle to want a desire for God and to want all of the desires that so easily became us culminated in a deeper appreciation for the work of Christ. Not only did He love us when we were enemies, but He loves our hearts so cold and wicked even now. What my heart lacks, Christ provides. As you read through these poems, I pray that as you realize your sin before a thrice holy God, you will understand the power of God in sending His Son in the flesh. Without Him, where would we be?
