The poetry that I write comes from the heart and it also uplifts me as a person. I chose the title "Can You Relate?" because there are a lot of people who feel some of the emotions, situations and outlooks on some of the subjects that I expressed throughout the book. I always thought that it was only me going through certain things in my life but came to realize I wasn't alone. So I hope when one reads the poetry they can find a sense of relief in knowing that they are not crazy and they are not alone.

This is a heavily debated topic and I am really looking forward to these responses because most men are looked at as the bread winner and the provider. More and more women are taking over the role as head of the household. They are carrying the burden and running the average single parent home. This will definitely challenge the gender roles in our society as well as their dominant role as decision makers and bread winners.
