The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1991-1992, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from January 3 through December 17, 1991. In 1991 and 1992 Brother Lee spoke one hundred sixty-two messages that were published in the Life-study of Job, Life-study of the Psalms, Life-study of Isaiah, Life-study of Jeremiah, Life-study of Lamentations, Life-study of Daniel, Life-study of Hosea, Life-study of Joel, Life-study of Amos, Life-study of Obadiah, Life-study of Jonah, Life-study of Micah, Life-study of Nahum, Life-study of Habakkuk, Life-study of Zephaniah, Life-study of Haggai, Life-study of Zechariah, and Life-study of Malachi. These messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. From January through August 1991, Brother Lee was in Anaheim, California. During that period he visited Los Angeles and Alhambra, California, in April. At the end of August he traveled to Berkeley, California. In early September he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of November. During that time he visited Huntington Beach, California. At the end of November Brother Lee traveled to Reston, Virginia, for the Thanksgiving weekend conference. In early December he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Two messages given in Anaheim, California, on January 3 and 4. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The God-ordained Way and the Eldership. They are included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1989, volume 4, as chapters 9 and 10 of Elders' Training, Book 10: The Eldership and the God-ordained Way (2). Therefore, they are not printed in this volume. 2. Seven messages given to the full-time trainees in Anaheim, California, on February 4 through December 17. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship to the Full-time Trainees in Anaheim. 3. Thirty-one messages given in Anaheim, California, on February 17 through December 15. One message was spoken in Chinese. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in Anaheim. 4. Thirteen messages given in Anaheim, California, on February 23 through July 7. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Elders' Training, Book 11: The Eldership and the God-ordained Way (3) and are included in this volume under the same title. Chapters 12 and 13 were also published in a small book entitled Further Consideration of the Eldership, the Region of Work, and the Care for the Body of Christ. 5. A message given in Los Angeles, California, on April 7. This message is included in this volume under the title A Capturing Vision of the Lord's Recovery in Three Aspects. 6. Four messages given in Anaheim, California, on May 25 through 27. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The World Situation and the Direction of the Lord's Move and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. A message given in Anaheim, California, on June 30. This message is included in this volume under the title Fellowship on the Lord's Move to Spread the Gospel of the Kingdom to Europe. 8. Two messages given in Anaheim, California, on July 6 and 7. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Further Consideration of the Eldership, the Region of Work, and the Care for the Body of Christ. They are included in this volume as chapters 12 and 13 in the section entitled Elders' Training, Book 11: The Eldership and the God-ordained Way (3). Therefore, they are not included in this volume as a separate section. 9. Twenty-eight messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 27 through December 17. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Central Line of the Divine Revelation and are included in this volume under the same title. 10. Two messages given in Berkeley, California, on August 30 and September 2. These messages are included in this volume under the title Laboring Organically to Practice the God-ordained Way.

Regarding Brother Witness Lee's travel and his ministry, 1958 can be divided into approximately three periods. The first period is the three months from January through March, during which Brother Lee was in Manila, Philippines, in January and returned to Taipei, Taiwan, via Hong Kong in February. He then conducted three conferences and a few co-workers' meetings in March. The second period consists of the next six months, from the beginning of April through mid October. During this period Brother Lee traveled around the world, passing through Tokyo, Osaka, and Shenyu in Japan (April 8 through 22); Honolulu, San Francisco, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Toronto in the United States and Canada (April 23 through August 1); London, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Zurich, Geneva, Rome, and Athens in Europe (August 2 through September 21); Beirut, Jerusalem, and Tehran in the Middle East (September 22 through 28); Karachi, Rangoon (now Yangon), and Bangkok in South and Southeast Asia (September 29 through October 3); and Hong Kong (October 4 through 15) before returning to Taiwan on October 16. The third period consists of the last three months in Taiwan, during which time he conducted various conferences. For the first period we have records of Brother Lee's meeting with district responsible ones in Hong Kong on February 12. The three conferences that Brother Lee conducted in Taiwan in March were on the subject of enjoying God. This is the first time that Brother Lee released the light concerning this subject. In addition to the three conferences, Brother Lee conducted a number of meetings with serving ones on March 4 through 8. He also gave a series of messages on reading the Bible and another series of messages on the vision of the tree of life. The messages given during this period are included in volume 1 of this set. For the second period we have records of Brother Lee's speaking in Tokyo in April in a conference on enjoying God and records of a few private talks. There are two records of his speaking in New York and four records of his speaking in Denmark. In addition, he wrote long letters that reveal some of the meetings that took place during his trip. These letters are published in Church News in volume 1 of this set. After his visits to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, he returned to Hong Kong in October. There he held two weeks of conferences on God's building. In the third period, upon returning to Taiwan in October, Brother Lee conducted a conference on God's building, with meetings in both the morning and the evening. In addition, he conducted various meetings with serving ones. After the conference, on Mondays and Wednesdays he gave additional messages on the subject of God's building. Almost all the messages given in the second and third periods of 1958 are included in volume 2 of this set. Some of his speaking in October and November is included in volume 1 in the section entitled The Perfecting of the Saints and the Building Up of the House of God. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1958, volume 1, contains messages, personal letters, and reports by Brother Witness Lee from February through December 1958. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1958 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this volume. The contents of this volume are divided into seven sections, as follows: 1. A message given in Hong Kong on February 12. This message is included in this section under the title Building and Perfecting. 2. A short speaking in an unknown location in February or March. This speaking is included in this volume under the title "The Son of Man." 3. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Reading the Bible to See Its True Meaning and Central Thought and are included in this volume under the same title. 4. Thirteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March, October, and November. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Perfecting of the Saints and the Building Up of the House of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Eighteen personal letters and reports that appeared in Issue Nos. 1 through 18 of Church News from April 6 through December 18. They are included in this volume under the same title. 6. Twenty-one messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How to Enjoy God and How to Practice the Enjoyment of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. Six messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Vision of the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1991-1992, volume 4, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from August 19, 1992, through March 20, 1993. After the Memorial Day weekend conference at the end of May 1992, Brother Lee returned to Anaheim, California, and remained there until the beginning of September, at which time he visited Seattle, Washington, for a weekend conference. He then returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the third week in November. During the last week in November he traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for the Thanksgiving weekend conference, after which he returned to Anaheim and remained there until early September 1993. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Two messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 19, 1992. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Fellowship with Full-time Trainees. 2. Thirteen messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 28, 1992, through March 20, 1993. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The History of God in His Union with Man and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Six messages given in Seattle, Washington, on September 4 through 7, 1992. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Overcomers and are included in this volume under the same title. 4. A message given in Seattle, Washington, on September 7, 1992. This message is included in this volume under the title Becoming Overcomers to Consummate the New Jerusalem. 5. Seven messages given in Anaheim, California, on October 1 through November 5, 1992. These messages are included in this volume under the title Southern California Elders' and Co-workers' Meetings. 6. Six messages given in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 26 through 29, 1992. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Constitution and the Building Up of the Body of Christ and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. Two messages given in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 29, 1992. These messages were previously published in a book entitled One Body and One Spirit and are included in this volume under the same title. 8. A message given in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 29, 1992. Thirty-two articles and reports published in the periodical The Christian from 1934 through 1940. These articles are included in this volume under the same title. 4. A message given in an unknown location in 1936. This message is included in this volume under the title Concerning the Human Living of the Believers. 5. Twelve letters written from December 9, 1937, through June 5, 1939. These letters were published in the periodical The Open Door in January 1938 through June 5, 1939, and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1991-1992, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from March 9, 1992, through April 19, 1993. Brother Lee ministered in Anaheim, California, from the beginning of 1992 until the end of the third week in May 1992. From there he traveled to Irving, Texas, for the Memorial Day weekend conference. He returned to Anaheim and remained there until the beginning of September, at which time he visited Seattle, Washington, for a weekend conference. He then returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the third week in November. During the last week in November he traveled to in Atlanta, Georgia, for the Thanksgiving weekend conference, after which he returned to Anaheim and remained there until early September 1993. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Thirteen messages given in Anaheim, California, on March 9 through September 22, 1992. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Satanic Chaos in the Old Creation and the Divine Economy for the New Creation and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. A message given in Irving, Texas, on May 25, 1992. This message is included in this volume under the title The Overcomers, the Situation on the Earth Today, and the Present Need in Russia. 6. A message given in Irving, Texas, on May 26, 1992. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Fellowship concerning the Urgent Need of the Vital Groups and are included in this volume under the same title.

During the first few months of 1959, Brother Witness Lee's first wife was in the final stage of her terminal illness, and he spent most of his time accompanying her. No conferences were held, and no messages were recorded during this period of time. His wife died on April 24. On May 26 through 30 Brother Lee began to have a series of meetings with the co-workers on a new direction of the work in Taiwan. His speaking during this period is included in the first part of volume 1 of this set. After this, on June 4 he traveled to Hong Kong and stayed for two days, during which time he had a brief meeting with some of the co-workers. He then traveled to the Philippines. There he released some messages on Christ and the church and conducted a Bible study on the Gospel of John. His speaking in the Philippines is included in volume 1 of this set. After his visit to the Philippines, he returned to Hong Kong at the end of July and conducted a two-week young people's conference on July 25 through August 9. At the end of this conference he held six question-and-answer sessions with co-workers and district serving ones. Brother Lee's speaking during his two visits to Hong Kong are included in volumes 1 and 2 of this set. On August 16 he returned to Taiwan and began planning for the new stage of the work in Taiwan. Beginning on September 20 he conducted six days of gospel meetings in the largest stadium in Taipei, with more than ten thousand in attendance. This was preceded by three preparation meetings and four follow-up gospel truth meetings. On October 5 he began a training on how to perfect new ones, which extended until January 22, 1960. His speaking in Taipei during the second half of 1959 is included at the end of volume 2 and in volumes 3 through 5 of this set. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1959, volume 1, contains messages, personal letters, and reports given or written by Brother Witness Lee in January through November 1959. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1959 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this volume. The contents of this volume are divided into six sections, as follows: 1. Personal letters and reports that were published in Church News, Issue Nos. 19 through 23 and 26 through 33, in January through November. These letters and reports are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Two messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 26. These messages are included in this volume under the title The New Direction of the Work. 3. Four messages given in Manila, Philippines, and Taipei, Taiwan, in 1959. The first three chapters were previously published in a book entitled Our Vision--Christ and the Church. Later, a fourth chapter was added based on notes taken by Brother K. H. Weigh. The four messages are included in this volume under the same title as the previously published book. 4. Twenty-eight messages given in Manila, Philippines, in the summer of 1959. These messages are included in this volume under the title Revelations in John: Seeing the Essential Significance of Life and Building. 5. Four talks given in Hong Kong in June through August. These talks are included in this volume under the title A Record of Several Talks in Hong Kong. 6. Six messages given in Hong Kong on July 25 through August 9. These messages, plus an appendix, are included in this volume under the title Experiencing God as Life to Live the Church Life.

On October 5, 1959, Brother Witness Lee began a service training in Taipei, Taiwan, that ended on January 22, 1960. A follow-up training began on February 16, 1960, and lasted until April 2. During that time Brother Lee released messages on the elders' management of the church and continued his synopsis of the books of the Bible with synopses of Numbers and Deuteronomy. After the training ended on April 2, he began another training for young people on April 26, which was intended to last five weeks; however, after the second week Brother Lee became ill. He rested until June 28, at which time he began a five-day co-workers' series of meetings with about twenty brothers (see Church News in volume 1 of this set). After these meetings he held various weekly training meetings with co-workers. His speaking in these meetings included the subjects of the sufficiency, pursuit, and learning of the Lord's serving ones and the law of revival. On September 27 he left for the United States for the second time. He remained mainly in New York and conducted meetings on God's building and held a four-day conference on the ground of the church. He traveled to San Francisco on December 1. On December 5 he went to Los Angeles and stayed there until December 8, at which time he returned to the Far East, passing through Japan, where he remained from December 10 through 19. There is no record of his speaking in San Francisco or in Japan. On December 19 Brother Lee returned to Taipei and remained there until the end of the year. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1960, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee and personal notes, letters, and reports concerning his ministry from December 1959 through November 23, 1960. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1960 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this volume. The contents of this volume are divided into three sections, as follows: 1. Eleven issues of the periodical Church News published in January through December 1960. These issues contain personal letters and reports written in Taipei, Taiwan, and New York City from December 1959 through November 23, 1960. They are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Thirty-five messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on February 16 through March 17, 1960, as a continuation of a previous training that ended on January 22. These messages are included in this volume under the title Synopsis of Numbers. 3. Nineteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on March 18 through April 1, 1960. These messages are included in this volume under the title Synopsis of Deuteronomy.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1971, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from early January through April 11, 1971. In 1971 Brother Lee spoke twenty-four messages that constituted The Visions of Ezekiel, which were later published in Life-study of Ezekiel. These Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. From the middle of October 1970 until the middle of January 1971, Brother Lee was in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Then he visited Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Surabaya, Indonesia; and Melbourne, Australia, before arriving in Auckland, New Zealand, on March 1. Brother Lee traveled to San Francisco on March 17 and then went to Los Angeles at the beginning of April, where he remained until the end of May. The contents of this volume are divided into six sections, as follows: 1. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in January. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Shepherding the Church and Perfecting the Young People. 2. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, from January 5 through 9. They were previously published in a book entitled The Meaning of Human Life and a Proper Consecration. 3. Three messages given in an unknown city and in Singapore from the end of January to the beginning of February. The date and place of the first message are uncertain. The last two messages were given in Singapore in February. They are part of an eight-day conference held in Singapore at the end of January and the beginning of February. The records of only two of the messages given during that conference have been located. The three messages in this section are included in this volume under the title The Abolishing of Ordinances and the Making of Peace. 4. Twelve messages given in Palmerston North, New Zealand, on March 12 through 16. These messages are included in this volume under the title Experiencing Christ for the Church as the New Man, the Body of Christ, and the Bride of Christ. 5. Five messages given in San Francisco, California, on March 19 through 21. They are included in this volume under the title Experiencing Christ for the Building Up of the Church as the Body of Christ and the New Man. 6. Seven messages given in Los Angeles, California, on April 8 through 11. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Life for the Preaching of the High Gospel.
