The full history of the world is a history of redemption. In no period of the history of redemption, not even when preparing the fullness of time for the Messiah's advent, has the providence of God been more marked than of late ars, in its hearing on the extension of the Redeemer's kingdom. The providence of God, in respect to this work, says another, would form one of the most interesting chapters in the history of his government. To the casual observer of Providence, to the ordinary reader of this world's history, the whole appears like a chaos Of incidents, no thread, no system, no line of connec tion running through it.
