In this book, an attempt is made to provide a hybrid grand unified theory to understand the universe, both in its micro/quantum aspects as well as macro/galactic aspects. The book describes a truly hybrid theory as it encompasses both the modern and ancient theories of the universe, together with its functioning at all levels of human comprehension. One of its authors, Dr Escultura, was nominated in 2005 for a Nobel Prize for his flux theory of gravitation. From then on this theory has been improved, clarified and is now known as the hybrid grand unified theory. This book deals with this new bold theory, unifying mathematics and physics, and answering some open fundamental questions and paradoxes in these disciplines. The book also describes what the ancient scientists knew about these matters.

Since the 1960s, academics have theorized that literature is on its way to becoming obsolete or, at the very least, has lost part of its power as an influential medium of social and cultural critique. This work argues against that misconception and maintains that contemporary American literature is not only alive and well but has grown in significant ways that reflect changes in American culture during the last twenty years. In addition, this work argues that beginning in the 1980s, a new, allied generation of American writers, born from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, has emerged, whose hybrid fiction blend distinct elements of previous American literary movements and contain divided social, cultural and ethnic allegiances. The author explores psychological, philosophical, ethnic and technological hybridity. The author also argues for the importance of and need for literature in contemporary America and considers its future possibilities in the realms of the Internet and hypertext. David Foster Wallace, Neal Stephenson, Douglas Coupland, Sherman Alexie, William Vollmann, Michele Serros and Dave Eggers are among the writers whose hybrid fictions are discussed.

The proceedings of MG16 give a broad view of all aspects of gravitational physics and astrophysics, from mathematical issues to recent observations and experiments. The scientific program of the meeting included 46 plenary presentations, 3 public lectures, 5 round tables and 81 parallel sessions arranged during the intense six-day online meeting. All talks were recorded and are available on the ICRANet YouTube channel at the following link: www.icranet.org/video_mg16.These proceedings are a representative sample of the very many contributions made at the meeting. They contain 383 papers, among which 14 come from the plenary sessions. The material represented in these proceedings cover the following topics: accretion, active galactic nuclei, alternative theories of gravity, black holes (theory, observations and experiments), binaries, boson stars, cosmic microwave background, cosmic strings, dark energy and large scale structure, dark matter, education, exact solutions, early universe, fundamental interactions and stellar evolution, fast transients, gravitational waves, high energy physics, history of relativity, neutron stars, precision tests, quantum gravity, strong fields, and white dwarf; all of them represented by a large number of contributions. The online e-proceedings are published in an open access format.

The book is mainly about hybrid systems with continuous/discrete-time dynamics. The major part of the book consists of the theory of equations with piece-wise constant argument of generalized type. The systems as well as technique of investigation were introduced by the author very recently. They both generalized known theory about differential equations with piece-wise constant argument, introduced by K. Cook and J. Wiener in the 1980s. Moreover, differential equations with fixed and variable moments of impulses are used to model real world problems. We consider models of neural networks, blood pressure distribution and a generalized model of the cardiac pacemaker. All the results of the manuscript have not been published in any book, yet. They are very recent and united with the presence of the continuous/discrete dynamics of time. It is of big interest for specialists in biology, medicine, engineering sciences, electronics. Theoretical aspects of the book meet very strong expectations of mathematicians who investigate differential equations with discontinuities of any type.

The problems of modern society are both complex and inter-disciplinary. Despite the - parent diversity of problems, however, often tools developed in one context are adaptable to an entirely different situation. For example, consider the well known Lyapunov’s second method. This interesting and fruitful technique has gained increasing signi?cance and has given decisive impetus for modern development of stability theory of discrete and dynamic system. It is now recognized that the concept of Lyapunov function and theory of diff- ential inequalities can be utilized to investigate qualitative and quantitative properties of a variety of nonlinear problems. Lyapunov function serves as a vehicle to transform a given complicated system into a simpler comparison system. Therefore, it is enough to study the properties of the simpler system to analyze the properties of the complicated system via an appropriate Lyapunov function and the comparison principle. It is in this perspective, the present monograph is dedicated to the investigation of the theory of causal differential equations or differential equations with causal operators, which are nonanticipative or abstract Volterra operators. As we shall see in the ?rst chapter, causal differential equations include a variety of dynamic systems and consequently, the theory developed for CDEs (Causal Differential Equations) in general, covers the theory of several dynamic systems in a single framework.

The NATO Advanced Study Institute 2000 was held in Cascais, a small town located in a renowned beach resort area, near Lisbon. The aim of the Meeting was to provide an overview and to cover the recent devel opments in some of the most important topics in Particle Physics and Cosmology, including Neutrino Physics, CP violation, B-Physics, Baryo genesis, Dark Matter, Inflation, Supersymmetry, Unified Theories, Large Extra-Di~ensions and M-theory. In the NATO ASI 2000, we had the priv ilege to have among the lecturers, some of the most prominent physicists working in the fields of Particle Physics and Cosmology. Furthermore, there was a strong participation by a large number of young scientists, including graduate students and post-docs who had an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field and discuss the various topics with lec turers and other participants. The enthusiasm of the young participants, the generosity of the lecturers in giving their time to participate in open discussions and debates, together with the social events and the pleasant environment of Cascais, all contributed to the great success of the Meeting. We are very grateful to Camara Municipal de Cascais for their support and organization of the reception in the beautiful Palace Condes Castro de Guimaraes and we are also specially grateful to colonel Eugenio de Oliveira for his support, to commander A. Monteiro de Macedo and to Mr.

Since from more than a century, the study of various types of integral equations and inequalities has been focus of great attention by many researchers, interested both in theory and its applications. In particular, there exists a very rich literature related to the integral equations and inequalities and their applications. The present monograph is an attempt to organize recent progress related to the Multidimensional integral equations and inequalities, which we hope will widen the scope of their new applications. The field to be covered is extremely wide and it is nearly impossible to treat all of them here. The material included in the monograph is recent and hard to find in other books. It is accessible to any reader with reasonable background in real analysis and acquaintance with its related areas. All results are presented in an elementary way and the book could also serve as a textbook for an advanced graduate course. The book deserves a warm welcome to those who wish to learn the subject and it will also be most valuable as a source of reference in the field. It will be an invaluable reading for mathematicians, physicists and engineers and also for graduate students, scientists and scholars wishing to keep abreast of this important area of research.
