Do you struggle with heartache from the death of a loved one or a major life adversity? Do you blame God for allowing such a painful thing to happen? Delores J. Porter has answers for you in her hope-filled new book, The Truth About God. She corrects misunderstandings in our traditional theology, challenging the belief that every event of this world is God's will and purpose. The Truth About God will inspire you to seek God for the comfort He wants to give you. You'll gain new hope that, instead of heartache, He has healing for you in body, soul, and spirit.

How do you turn your struggles into strengths? Beloved Bible teacher Sheila Walsh teaches readers how the daily spiritual practices of confession, meditation on God’s Word, and prayer result in fresh freedom in Christ. In her long-awaited book, Sheila Walsh equips women with a practical method for connecting with God’s strength in the midst of struggle. From daily frustrations that can feel like overwhelming obstacles to hard challenges that turn into rock-bottom crises, women will find the means to equip themselves for standing strong with God. Using the spiritual applications of confession, prayer, and meditation on Scripture to form a daily connection to Jesus, women will learn how to experience new joy as a child of God who is fully known, fully loved, and fully accepted. In In the Middle of the Mess, Walsh reveals the hardened defenses that kept her from allowing God into her deepest hurts and shares how entering into a safe place with God and practicing this daily connection with him have saved her from the devil’s prowling attacks. Though we will never be completely “fixed” on earth, we are continually held by Jesus, whatever our circumstances. Sheila Walsh acts as our guardian in In the Middle of the Mess as she shows us we’re not alone in our struggles, guides us through a courageous journey of self-discovery, and reminds us where to find hope, comfort, and strength in tough times.

AN INTRODUCTION TO KNOWING TRUTH ABOUT OUR CREATOR Whether you're a believer in God or a skeptic of his existence, you want your beliefs to rest on a solid foundation of truth. Truth About God shows surprisingly strong evidence that God exists and explains what he is like. As part of the Real Life Theology series, this book clarifies how we have the ability to do theology in the first place. What can we know about God? Can we have confidence about our beliefs even when we do not have 100 percent certainty about them? Without solid answers to these questions, confusion can dominate and cause our faith to shipwreck. As Truth About God explains, we are not left in the dark about God. If you're wondering how to communicate the truth about God in a pluralistic society that's confused about the nature of truth claims, Truth About God is an essential read. -- J. Warner Wallace, author of Cold-Case Christianity Don't let the small size of this book fool you; it brims with life-changing information about the God who made us and who loves us beyond belief! -- Mark Mittelberg, best-selling author of Confident Faith Dr. Knopp is always brilliant and insightful, but it comes through so powerfully in Truth About God. This is a tremendous gift to help us stand strong in our battles. -- Jud Wilhite, Senior Pastor, Central Church, Las Vegas RICHARD A. KNOPP (PhD, University of Illinois) is a Professor of Philosophy and Christian Apologetics at Lincoln Christian University. He is the Program Director of Room for Doubt (www.roomfordoubt.com) and WorldView Eyes. Prior to full-time teaching, he served in two youth ministries and in a five-year preaching ministry.

"Is my baby in heaven?" This is the most important question a grieving parent can ask. And even if the little one is someone else's child, the issue remains: What happens to children?those unborn, stillborn, or youngsters?when they die? Can you hope to see them again? Can you let go of your fear and guilt? Can God's love soothe a wound so jagged? With scriptural authority and the warmth of a pastor's heart, bestselling author John MacArthur examines the breadth of the entire Bible and reveals in this compelling book the Heavenly Father's care for every life. "I have sat by the grave of our daughter and son and wondered out loud if my belief that Hope and Gabriel are in heaven has any solid scriptural support. John MacArthur offers truth from God's Word that puts the doubts of any grieving parent to rest. Safe in the Arms of God reveals that confidence of heaven for the child you love is based on much more than mere sentimentality; it is revealed in the Word of God and reflective of the very heart of God." ?Nancy Guthrie, author of Holding On to Hope

The God of the monotheistic ('one God') religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - is usually perceived in one of two ways: (1) as a formless spirit or (2) as a white man (see for example the image from the Biblioteca Aposotolica Vaticana which graces the front-jacket of Bernhard Lang's recent book, The Hebrew God: Portrait of an Ancient Deity: the image is of God the creator as a white-bearded, purple-robed, white male). But these conceptions of God, Dr. Wesley Muhammad demonstrates, are not rooted in the primary texts-Bible and Qu'ran-but instead stem from ideas and sensitivities of a later period and a foreign cultural-intellectual orientation (Hellenism or Greek philosophy). In contrast, the God of the Semitic monotheistic tradition, that tradition from which sprung the Bible and Qur'an, is neither formless nor white: he is a man-immortal, supremely holy, and possessing a black body. This is the same black God that we encounter in the religious literature throughout the ancient Near East. The black body of God was the focus of the ancient mysteries, for example in New Kingdom Egypt and Vedic India, and was at the center of the esoteric tradition of theTemple in Jerusalem. One of the priests of this Temple and custodians of the secret of this Black God was the priest responsible for the editing of the Torah (the so-called Five Books of Moses or Pentateuch of the Old Testament) The Truth of God is a History-of-Religions study based on a critical examination of the primary texts of scripture (Bible, Qur'an, Sunnah) in Hebrew, Greek and Arabic, as well as the critical scholarship in the secondary literature: English, German and French. This multi-lingual literacy has enabled Dr. Wesley Muhammad to answer the question, 'Who is God?' from the scriptural perspective with a depth not heretofore seen in writing. Dr. Wesley Muhammad has also drawn extensively from the religious texts, in translation, of the ancient Near East and India. With these primary and secondary sources he has been able to demonstrate that: (1) According to a widespread ancient Near and Far Eastern tradition, as evidenced in Egyptian, Sumerian/Babylonian, and Indic sources, God the creator was a black god, with a black body. The answers to such questions as: how did this body develop, of what substance was this body made, and why was this body black, were the focus of the mysteries in these nations. (2) The Creator God of Ancient Israel was this same Black God, and those responsible for forming the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) were devotees of this Black God. (3) The Black God of ancient Near Eastern and Semitic monotheistic traditions was a self-created black man-god, whose physical (though not spiritual) beginnings were from an atom hidden in a primordial darkness. The Hebrew of Genesis I specifies that this was a triple-darkness in which this atom was hidden and from which Elohim (God) emerged. (4) According to the Hebrew Bible and Arabic Qur'an the original black man, in his original state, was God on earth. (5) The Bible and the Qur'an/Sunnah, when allowed to speak their own languages (Hebrew, Greek and Arabic) affirm that God is a transcendent man, not a transcendent, formless spirit. (6) The God of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Qur'an is this same Black God of the ancient Near East and ancient Israel. The claim of modern Muslim theologians that God has no form and could never be a man is based on later theological developments away from the Qur'an and Sunnah, developments inspired by the introduction of Greek philosophic ideas into Islam.

Animosity, confrontation, confusion—from cable news right down to our kids' classrooms, Christians are waking up to a world very different from the one we once knew. We are quick to blame everyone else from Hollywood to Washington, but it is not the culture's fault God is sidelined. If God is missing from the conversation, then it is because His people have failed to represent Him there. Christians have been far too silent for far too long, retreating out of fear of offending someone or the unpleasantness of stepping outside our comfort zone. When Christians have spoken up, too often it has not been in ways that honor Jesus. We have inserted our own opinion, obscuring the beauty and truth of the Gospel in favor of our political, ideological, or personal agenda. It's time for us to embrace our calling as Christ's ambassadors. To do that, we must be equipped to engage the world in ways that bring the mind of Christ to bear on the matters of the day. Carmen LaBerge's Speak the Truth seeks to give believers the confidence to speak the truth and the tools to re-engage in the culture and address the problems we are facing today by boldly—and lovingly—bringing God back into every conversation
