Edward McKendree Bounds was a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church South and author of eleven books, nine of which focused on the subject of prayer. In this book he remarks, “The life of the individual believer, his personal salvation, and personal Christian graces have their being, bloom, and fruitage in prayer.” Bounds fought in the Civil War, and brought prayer to the battlefield.
