Unter den medizinischen Disziplinen hat die Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie die größte Zukunft: In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat das Fach in Forschung und Versorgung Quantensprünge durchlaufen. Somatically ill patients often also suffer from psychological symptoms. The diagnosis and treatment of these symptoms and their underlying psychiatric disorders are the task of consultation-liaison psychiatry.
