An accessible child-centred story about self-acceptance and the importance of opening up to those closest to you. Becky and Josh are almost-twins, with two mums and the same anonymous donor dad. Josh can't wait until he's eighteen, the legal age when he can finally contact his donor, and he'll do anything to find out more - even if it involves lying. Becky can't stop thinking about her new friend, Carli. Could her feelings for Carli be a sign of something more? Becky and Josh both want their parents to be proud of them...but right now, they're struggling to even accept themselves. Praise for Sarah Hagger-Holt's debut, Nothing Ever Happens Here "A barrier-breaking, empathy-inducing story for all." LoveReading4Kids "I can't wait for kids to read it - it's a book a lot of people need right now." Jay Hulme, award-winning poet "Compassionate and sweet and full of people trying their best. Highly recommended." Robin Stevens "Pitch perfect as far as I'm concerned. I wish there'd been books like this in my day." Christine Burns MBE, British Political Activist

Produced in partnership with Egale Canada Human Rights Trust, Out Proud: Stories of Pride, Courage, and Social Justice is the second in a series of essay anthologies designed to give attention to issues that are sometimes ignored in the mainstream media--and a voice to those most closely affected by them. Expertly edited by sociologist Dr. Douglas Gosse, Out Proud features more than fifty short essays on the experience of LGBTTIQQ2SA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgendered, Intersexual, Queer, Questioning, 2-Spirited and Allies) and written by members of our diverse, Canadian community. Following the critical success of the first book in the series, Out Loud: Essays on Mental Illness, Stigma and Recovery, Out Proud aims to broaden the conversation around sexuality and social justice.

Using the narrative method of biblical theology, From Age to Age traces the eschatological themes of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, emphasizing how each book of the Bible develops these themes that culminate in the coming of Christ and showing how individual texts fit into the over-arching picture.

A fallen world is full of reasons to lose heart. From the large-scale tragedies of war, famine, and natural disasters, to the more personal tragedies of broken relationships and broken dreams, it can be difficult to avoid discouragement--even for the believer. And yet, Scripture calls us to a life of hope, based not on wishful thinking or avoiding our problems but based on who God is, what he has done, and what he is still doing. In this short, giftable book, pastor Jason Meyer shows you that though the reasons for discouragement seem strong, the reasons we have to take heart and hold on to hope are stronger yet. Through biblical truth and personal stories, Meyer encourages the weary and anxious believer by shining light on the nature of reality, the nature of God, and the intersection of the two in our daily, rubber-meets-the-road lives. The result is a book that lifts our spirits in a world that too often seeks to drag us down.

I became a Christian in May of 1979. Shortly after I got saved, God started speaking to my heart. God actually speaks to a lot of Christians, but they think it is their own thoughts. He first starts speaking to us through our conscience, and if we will listen and obey, He will get louder and stronger. One word of caution; not every voice you hear is from God. The enemy tries to talk to us, and sound like God, and I can't tell you how to tell the difference between the two. Even after forty years, the enemy still fools me sometimes, but it is much less then it was forty years ago. In II Corinthians 11:14 it speaks of Satan being transformed into an angel of light, actually he is an angel of darkness, but he tries to appear as an angel of God to fool the saints. Be careful whom you follow!
