In Table iia the index is shown on the base of rates in 1935 to 1939 as 100. An appendix to the report gives data regarding wages paid to farm labour in 1943 and 1944, as published by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics. Subsequent bulletins gave similar fig ures 'for 1921 and 1922, covering, how ever, a larger number of localities and more classes Of labour. Report no. 3 issued as a supplement to the labour gazette for February, 1922, gave figures for coal mining from 1900 to 1921. The figures for metal trades are chiefly for factories, shops, foundries, etc., and do not cover railway employees Of these classes, these being given in the table Of railway wages.
