2007 National Drug Strategy Household Survey

This report presents the summary results from the 2007 National Drug Strategy household survey, which was conducted between July and November 2007.

This 2010 National Drug Strategy Household Survey report shows: positive and significant reductions since 2007 in daily tobacco smoking; mixed findings on alcohol consumption and risk; and a small overall rise in illicit drug use. In terms of attitudes to drugs, excessive alcohol use and tobacco smoking were nominated as the two most serious concerns to the community - and there were higher levels of support than previously for tobacco and alcohol harm reduction policies.

'1998 National Drug Strategy Household Survey: detailed findings' contains final results from the 1998 National Drug Strategy Household Survey. Provisional results were published by AIHW in '1998 National Drug Strategy Household Survey: first results'. This second report extends the analysis on correlates of drug use and the social and health effects of drug use. The information presented here and in other reports in this series will be useful for policy planners and researchers interested in drug-related matters.
