On January 2, 2014, Adam Holland woke up on the floor of his bedroom. Scattered on the floor around him were objects from his nightstand: a glass of water, clock, watch, lamp-all on the floor. He was in a haze but still knew that something wasn't right. Adam hurriedly picked everything up, tried to dry the carpet from the water, and then went back to sleep. He later woke up with a vague idea of what had happened in the night-and also with a mild black eye and bruised face. Thus started the trial of-and for-Adam Holland's life. After discovering that Adam had a brain tumor, his doctors wanted to do further testing. The final blow came when one of the neurosurgeons walked into the room where Adam and his parents were waiting and told them that the tumor was malignant. He had cancer. Out of Adam's cancer came Anchored in the Storm, this devotional book for those who are suffering. Distress and anguish take on many forms, including not just physical but also emotional, economic, and relational. The goal of this book is to encourage and exhort your faith in Christ during the hardest, darkest, and most difficult times you may ever face in this life. Adam Holland shared his own story so that you would get to know, at a deeper level, your Creator and the glorious purposes and incredible destiny He has for you.

The challenges of her new job energize her. But society boy Ensign Archer Vandenberg's attentions only annoy--even if he is her brother's best friend. During the darkest days of the war, Arch's destroyer hunts German U-boats in vain as the submarines sink dozens of merchant ships along the East Coast. Still shaken by battles at sea, Arch notices his men also struggle with their nerves--and with drowsiness. Could there be a link to the large prescriptions for sedatives Lillian has filled? The two work together to answer that question, but can Arch ever earn Lillian's trust and affection? Sarah Sundin brings World War II to life, offering readers an intense experience they won't soon forget.

"Edgar Armstrong, Earl of Callander, had not given much thought to marrying and producing an heir, until he meets Emily Sinclair ... Angus MacNeill, Lord Callander's groom, thinks Emily married Edgar for his title, his money and the security he can give her. And when Edgar approaches him with a very unusual request Angus questions his master's motives ... Deeply in love with Edgar, Emily will do anything he asks of her. But she never suspected he'd ask something like this! Despite Edgar's reassurances she worries that his plan could destroy their marriage rather than strengthen it. And when she makes her choice, Emily wonders if there's room enough for two men in her heart, and in her bed."--Page 4 of cover

It is 1941 and America teeters on the brink of war. Outgoing naval officer Ensign Jim Avery escorts British convoys across the North Atlantic in a brand-new destroyer, the USS Atwood. Back on shore, Boston Navy Yard secretary Mary Stirling does her work quietly and efficiently, happy to be out of the limelight. Yet, despite her reserved nature, she never could back down from a challenge. When evidence of sabotage on the Atwood is found, Jim and Mary must work together to uncover the culprit. A bewildering maze of suspects emerges, and Mary is dismayed to find that even someone close to her is under suspicion. With the increasing pressure, Jim and Mary find that many new challenges--and dangers--await them. Sarah Sundin takes readers to the tense months before the US entered WWII. Readers will encounter German U-boats and torpedoes, along with the explosive power of true love, in this hopeful and romantic story.
