We live more intimately with nonhuman animals than ever before in history. The change in the way we cohabitate with animals can be seen in the way we treat them when they die. There is an almost infinite variety of ways to help us cope with the loss of our nonhuman friends—from burial, cremation, and taxidermy; to wearing or displaying the remains (ashes, fur, or other parts) of our deceased animals in jewelry, tattoos, or other artwork; to counselors who specialize in helping people mourn pets; to classes for veterinarians; to tips to help the surviving animals who are grieving their animal friends; to pet psychics and memorial websites. But the reality is that these practices, and related beliefs about animal souls or animal afterlife, generally only extend, with very few exceptions, to certain kinds of animals—pets. Most animals, in most cultures, are not mourned, and the question of an animal afterlife is not contemplated at all. Mourning Animals investigates how we mourn animal deaths, which animals are grievable, and what the implications are for all animals.

One evening while lying on our sofa watching the news on our television, the story was broadcasted describing the torture of various animals. It made me sick. From that point on, I decided to sit down and write this book, "How to Fall in Love with an Animal." Without going into great detail, I felt that it was necessary to be able to share my families' personal experiences, even though some of them were very painful, but there are some that ended in a happy ending. My story is in regards to our happy animals alongside stories that are sickening and disturbing, from individuals who do not value the life of an animal. There is always someone to blame for this pain. We as human beings are more than capable of being able to love an animal. As a matter of fact, this book will help you believe that you can make your life more cheerful and comfortable when adopting an animal. I realize that in the world today there is so much hate and evilness that follows, and there is very little that I can do besides making monthly donations that will help aid in the rescue of thousands of neglected animals. I wish with all my heart that I could do more, and I hope by writing this book that it would inspire you and help you become a better person. The love we have for our animals happens to be displayed throughout my book. I hope this book will touch a soft place in your heart. Remember, animal life is not over until we decide it's not worth hanging on to. We all must keep remembering that we are all children of God, whether it be human beings or animals.

The story begins at the end of creation, the end of our lives in this universe and the destruction of them by a being called Eversor. The main character Astrial is a fallen angel telling the story from his perspective beyond the creation of this universe and into a reality where the a Creator of all Creator resides. He was the angel of intelligence and the most high scribe before he fell himself. He takes you through his torment by Evil and how he is forced to chose between these world that he doesn't really belong to. He shares insight into how evil was born and most importantly how everything we think we know about good and evil is really motivated by agendas. He introduces you to the four Eternals that have a lot to with how this story plays out. He then gives you insight into the war in heaven, the fall of the angels and how a small decision by a being led to this obsession with man. He gives you the history of the earth and the makers of mankind and their civilizations that still exist today. He leads you out of the garden of Eden and shows you the very rocky relationship between Adam and eve. Astrial finally leads you into the final wars of mankind when there was ordered a mass exodus from this planet leaving us totally alone.
