Bridging Troubled Waters is about a robust and holistic approach to resolving conflict. It begins where much of the currently accepted theory and practice in the field leaves off. Like a hand pulling back the curtain from parts of us that have been closeted away, this book reveals ways we can use more of ourselves in addressing conflict. Moving beyond the analytic and the intellectual, it situates our efforts at bridging conflict in the very places where conflict is born--relationships. From relationships come connection, meaning, and identity. It is through awareness of connection, shared meaning, and respect for identity that conflicts are transformed.

Today the world is confronted with many religious wars and the migrations of millions of persons due to these conflicts. This is what this book attempts to do from the viewpoint of major religious and ethical thinkers. The book relies on Bernard Lonergan’s foundational method to address problems systematically with a view to achieve breakthroughs in our openness to one another. The book appeals to the teachings of the Buddha, Jesus, and Mohammad, relying on the mystical and insights of these religious founders as well as those of dozens of their followers so as to find commonalities that can build bridges of mercy. A global secularity ethics plays a leading role in this book’s bridging efforts.

Bernard Lonergan is a world-renowned philosopher, methodologist, and theologian. The complexity of his work has tended to limit his accessibility to average readers. Bringing Bernard Lonergan Down to Earth seeks to remedy this limitation by showing how Lonergan did address problems of community life. He also broadened his interest after writing Insight to include a reaching into our hearts as modeled, for example, by the genius Blaise Pascal. Lonergan also sought to bridge religious divides. Here the Christian theological virtues of faith, hope, and love are indispensable but that does not curtail from Lonergan's uncanny ability to reach out to secularists by focusing on ethics. The importance of Lonergan's interdisciplinary work is signaled in the book's twelve explorations (in the concluding Part IV) that detail for interested readers his extraordinary ability to solve major philosophical issues.

This series of four video tapes, which is based on the demonstrations pre-recorded by Robert H Anderson and Anton E Becker, two prominent European morphologists, shows the essence of the abnormal morphology within carefully selected autopsy specimens, comparing the findings with appropriately dissected normal hearts, and supplementing the anatomic material with diagrams and cartoons. Accompanying these tapes is an explanatory book prepared with extensive full colour illustrations based on the specimens and diagrams used in the videos and supplemented by appropriate material from the extensive files of the authors.The introductory chapter of the book discusses the background to sequential segmental analysis and the importance of the morphological myocardial method of recognizing chambers and arterial trunks in congenitally malformed hearts. This project is intended for the first teaching text in this field. It will describe the new concepts, methodology, and application of real-time 3 dimensional echocardiography for congenital heart diseases. It will concentrate on a step-wised approach for each and every major CHD Congenital heart disease (CHD) is a major cause of mortality and morbidity in young infants. This monograph will be the first text to focus on a relatively new technology, i.e. real time 3- dimensional echocardiography, and its history, technology, approaches, normal study, and clinical application in a variety of congenital heart diseases from fetuses to adults. This technology first became available around the turn of this century. In the last few years, this field has seen rapid progress in technological advancement and expanding current and potential clinical applications. This technology is particularly suited for congenital heart disease in which there is a clear need for more clear and accurate delineation of the congenital heart defects from a 3- dimensional perspective for diagnosis, assessment, and prognosis of these defects. Although there are two monographs for real-time 3D echocardiography adults with heart diseases (Shiota, and Nanda), mostly coronary heart disease, valve heart disease, etc, there is no published monograph related to real-time 3D echocardiography in children with congenital heart disease. This project will fill a gap for potentially a diverse audience including pediatric cardiologists, congenial heart surgeons, anesthesiologists, high risk Ob/Gyn specialists, neonatologists, adult congenital disease specialists, pediatric residents, fellows, nurses, physician assistants, and other health care professionals.
