PURGATORY occupies an important place in our holy religion : it forms one of the principal parts of the work of Jesus Christ, and plays an essential role in the economy of the salvation of man. What then is the work which we, members of the Church, have to do for the souls in Purgatory ? We have to alleviate their sufferings. This is book 1 of a planned trilogy and DOES end on a cliffhanger. The series will end with a HEA.

In this carefully researched and challenging study, Sullivan shows that chapters 22-24 (the Cave of Montesinos episode) represent an entrance into Purgatory, while chapter 55 is the exit from this realm.
