Tobacco comes from a leafy plant that tends to grow in warm tropical areas. It is famously grown all over the Caribbean, where the warm, sunny conditions make for a perfect growing climate. Tobacco is usually smoked as a nicotinic stimulant and is mostly processed, rolled and dried before being smoked. Different geographies produce different types of the plant. The taste and flavor of the leaves are the characteristic trademarks of different types. The process of curing also determines the type of tobacco. Tobacco products include cigarettes, cigars, loose pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco and snuff. These products contain the dried, processed leaves of the tobacco plant nicotiana rustica or nicotiana tabacum. All tobacco contains nicotine, an addictive drug. Tobacco leaves contain plenty of nicotine which evaporates on burning. This nitrogen-based compound is addictive in low amounts and toxic in high doses. Nicotine Sulfate is a potent pesticide, known for its high toxicity. A large proportion of Indian economy is agro based in which Tobacco is one of the principal cash crops. We are inundated by scientific and statistical information, but what should we believe? How much should we trust the polls on the latest electoral campaign? When a physician tells us that a diagnosis of cancer is 90% certain or a scientist informs us that recent studies support global warming, what should we conclude? How can we acquire reliable statistical information? Once we have it, how do we evaluate it? Despite the importance of these questions to our lives, many of us have only a vague idea of how to answer them. In this admirably clear and engaging book, Mark Battersby provides a practical guide to thinking critically about scientific and statistical information. The goal of the book is not only to explain how to identify misleading statistical information, but also to give readers the understanding necessary to evaluate and use statistical and statistically based scientific information in their own decision making.

Written to provide hope, serious results, and life-long success to diabetes sufferers, this updated edition offers insight into anti-aging, holistic health, how to revitalize your diet, and more Dr. Gabriel Cousens offers an innovative approach to the prevention and healing of what he calls chronic diabetes degenerative syndrome. A leading medical authority in the world of live-food nutrition, Dr. Cousens exposes the dangers of excess glucose and fructose as the key causes of this seemingly unstoppable epidemic that affects more than 25 million Americans and 347 million people worldwide. Cousens, whose Diabetes Recovery Program is the most successful anti-diabetes program in the world, presents a 3-week plan that focuses on a moderate-low complex carbohydrate, live food, plant-source-only diet that reverses diabetes to a physiology of health and well-being by resetting the genetic expression of a person’s DNA. The program renders insulin and related medicines unnecessary within 4 days as the blood sugar drops to normal levels, and the diabetic shifts into a nondiabetic physiology within 2 weeks. Substantially revised throughout, this practical and encouraging guide reveals the risks of low cholesterol and low omega-3s in one’s diet and includes more than 140 delicious and healthy recipes. The book represents a major breakthrough in understanding the synergy that helps cure diabetes.
