The book is a fictional account of a supernatural incident that lands Wilbur and Orville Wright in present day Kitty Hawk. Presumed to be reenactors who often entertain the tourists, the brothers are confronted with a world that has evolved technologically; in great part due to their aeronautical designs and calculations. While witnessing the applications of their fl ying machine’s successors, they observe the utilization of their invention in the fi elds of defense, business, and leisure. Frustrated with the inability to convince people who they really are, the brothers struggle with the possibility that they could be hallucinating or experiencing some type of subconscious dream brought on by the shock of being buried in a sandstorm. Making the best of a troublesome situation, they use what time they have to observe and record the dimensions and components of their “yet to be built” Flyer; a reproduction of which is on display at the National Park Service’s Visitor’s Center. With no warning, they are mysteriously returned to their own time to live out their destiny as history has recorded.

As the self-proclaimed Huckleberry Finn of Woodbury, New Jersey, who would have guessed that James Wright's life would take him through sports, college, and into the FBI. He spent a carefree childhood roaming the rivers and woods of Woodbury with his dog, Golly. Those rivers, lakes and woods were his Mississippi River. His love for sports led him into another world. What a great day it was - a boy and his dad going to a baseball game together. Next came his wrestling days during high school and college. All of these experiences gave him the self-discipline that he would need later in life. He thought that teaching and coaching would be his life's work, but quite unexpectedly, he ended up in the FBI. He was privileged to work some of the Bureau's highest profile cases such as the Patty Hearst kidnapping, Jim Jones and the People's Temple mass suicide, the Unabomber, the Chowchilla kidnapping of twenty-six children, and many more cases. He's had a great life with many wonderful memories, but the icing on the cake was his induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as an Outstanding American. He is proud to be an American and this is his story!

Staying in is my favorite thing to do. So, if you relate, you'll understand my reticence about leaving the quiet comfort of my home for a night out at a noisy drag club. But it's for a good cause. My big brother is in town, and this is a chance to get to know his new girlfriend. I can't really say no without looking snotty like the rest of the Wright family comes across. My aim in life is to be everything my father is not. Lucky for me, there's another reason to attend tonight too. A tall, dark and handsome piece of man candy going by the name of Banks Johnson. We met briefly this afternoon and let me tell you, the air sizzled. I'm likely to get burned if I get too close. But while I swore off men when my last relationship went south, when I find myself in the wrong place and it's just Banks and me who'll know, I decide it's the right time to throw caution to the wind. One night can't hurt, right? Unless I somehow lose my heart.... As with all Megan Wade books, this installment of the Wrong/Wright series comes with her Sugar Promise. High heat, low drama, guaranteed.

A cultural icon who defined the twentieth-century American landscape, Frank Lloyd Wright has been studied from what seems to be every possible angle. While many books focus on his works, torrid personal life, or both, few solely consider his professional persona, as a man enmeshed in a web of prominent public figures and political ideas. In this new biography, Robert McCarter distills Wright’s life and work into a concise account that explores the beliefs and relationships so powerfully reflected in his architectural works. McCarter examines here how Wright aspired to influence America’s evolving democratic society by the challenges his buildings posed to traditional views of private and public space. He investigates Wright’s relationships with key leaders of art, industry, and society, and how their views came to have concrete significance in Wright’s work and writings. Wright argued that architecture should be the “background or framework” for daily life, not the “object,” and McCarter dissects how and why he aspired to this and other ideals, such as his belief in the ethical duty of architects to improve society and culture. A penetrating study of the foremost pioneer in modern architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright offers a fascinating biographical chronicle that reveals the principles and relationships at the base of Wright’s production.
