"Unlike patients with other mental health disorders, such as schizophrenia or bipolar illness, for whom a medical physician rarely needs to be involved in care delivery, patients with eating disorders have a litany of significant medical complications that demand close oversight by a medical doctor knowledgeable in treating these disorders. However, prior to the 1980s, little available literature elucidated the best medical practices for these patients, and currently, very few physicians have much medical expertise in this specialized area. This is disconcerting, because these patients are known to be frequent utilizers of the medical system who are often admitted to hospitals and emergency departments for medical complications of their disorders. In addition, anorexia nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any mental disorder except opioid abuse, and the standardized mortality ratio for bulimia nervosa is almost twice that seen in age-matched control subjects. Moreover, much of the excessive mortality rate in AN is attributable to medical complications. Thus, there is an impelling need for this book, which highlights the medicolegal and ethical challenges in treating individuals with EDs. Progress in the medical and psychological treatment of eating disorders over the past half-century has shown us what we can do but sometimes leaves unanswered questions about what we should do in difficult situations, such as the case of a person with a severe and enduring eating disorder who is symptomatic, resists treatment, and requires repeated involuntary hospitalizations. This book explores the ethical and legal dimensions of these difficult questions"--

In an entertaining and relatable style, 17 year old Evin Joseph and world renowned business guru Raymond Aaron provide a step-by-step guide to helping teens improve their self-image, relationships, life long skills, as well as ways to alter their mindset and achieve their goals to have success in their own lives. This book is jam packed with proven strategies, ingenious ideas, and incredible real life stories from teenagers and some of the most brilliant minds of today. A must have book for teens, as well as for those parents, grandparents, teachers and others who impact teens, Tipping the Scales is sure to meet and exceed expectations while showing teens how they can reach for the stars and work to achieve their dreams. I published this book with the help of Raymond Aaron (a world renowned motivational speaker) and his publishing agency, the Canadian Psychology Foundation, and leaders in the guidance and business fields. This has been a 6 month process and I launched the book at an official book launch on April 11th&12th where I met and spoke with Mr Jack Canfield, the creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series which has sold over 500 million copies worldwide. He called my book "an important one, and a much needed step by step guide for the self help industry catering towards teenagers". The inspiration came from helping a close friend of mine deal with family troubles, as well as from my desire to give back and help more kids in the community (especially those who are less fortunate) not only to get into college, but to get into very good ones. The high school dropout rate is 7.8% in Canada, and its my hopes to decrease that number through spreading the word about my book and getting as many copies out there as I can. This is a NON PROFIT initiative and all profits will be going to wards funding youth empowerment activities in the local Toronto area.

A multibillion-dollar industry--as large as Big Tobacco--is emerging from the underground. Yet more than 90 percent of today's investments into budding cannabis producers will end in failure. Few people understand how the industry works and where it's headed. One man does. Standing at the forefront of innovation is Michael Brubeck, CEO of Centuria, one of the largest cannabis manufacturers in North America. Drawing from his experience in the financial and legal marijuana fields, he reveals winning strategies for investors and entrepreneurs looking to enter this newly emerging "green rush," and eye-opening information for anyone who wants to understand what's really going on in this emerging industry. Part how-to manual, part history book, and part memoir of Brubeck's own career in the cannabis industry, Tipping the Scale is a must-read for anyone interested in learning how and why marijuana legalization is on the verge of transforming the global economy. An underground industry is being transformed right now. Do not miss this book.
