This is the fourth volume in Colin Clay's autobiographical series which tells of the seven years the Clay family enjoyed living in the town of Capreol, a railway community just a short distance from Sudbury, Ontario. Colin had served pastorally and academically in Sudbury when the family arrived from England, but when there came a vacancy at St Alban's parish in Capreol the Archbishop of Algoma appointed Colin as its rector with Colin continuing at Laurentian University but soon adding a position as the Civilian Officiating Clergyman at the Canadian Forces Station at Falconbridge. Capreol provided many opportunties for Colin, Barbara and their four children and Colin was happy with his varied responsibilities. The Clay family continued to enjoy exciting holiday travels across North America along with renewed visits with families in the United Kingdom. Colin was active with Army Cadets as was Barbara with Girl Guides. When the family left for Saskatoon in 1977 Philip and Gill had begun studies at university and college and Alan and Susan were ready for high school. The next volume entitled "It's A Dry Cold" will continue with the Clay's adventures on the Canadian prairies.

Becker Drane's job as a Fixer in The Seems is in jeopardy. The Powers That Be have discovered his illegal relationship with Jennifer Kaley and he's about to be punished big time for all the rules he has broken. But just when it seems like Becker's fixing days are over for good, he is called in to assist on a job in the Middle of Nowhere. A Train of Thought headed for The World has disappeared, and the first group of Fixers sent to find it has vanished now too. As usual The Tide is the prime suspect. This latest mission takes Becker to the remotest places, and introduces him to the more powerful people in The Seems. Will he manage to find the Lost Train of Thought and finally discover, once and for all, who's running The Tide?

It is said that writing is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration. I absolutely agree, and Im sure most successful writers would echo my sentiments: Inspiration is the easy part. Over the years I have spoken with and taught beginning writers from all around the world, in all sorts of settings. I have helped them review, edit, and rewrite their work, and I have found one common thread among those would-be writers who eventually become published authors: They are willing to devote themselves to the not-so-easy part of writingthe 90 percent perspiration. As I worked with these many writers I discovered what I consider to be the simplest and most practical writing method availablethe train-of-thought method. This excellent, well known writing method did not originate with me, but it seems no one had ever taken the time to put the method in book form. I therefore decided to do so myself. This is not a book about proper grammar or punctuation, or how best to choose the voice or set the scene for your great American novel. There are already countless books covering those subjects, if thats what youre looking for. But if you want to know how best to take your thoughts and dreams and put them into a clear, compelling, readable manuscript, then this is the book for you. Having personally seen the train-of-thought writing method help so many new writers learn to organize, write, and polish their ideas into successful manuscripts, I offer this book to those who would do the same.
